This all-poster event focuses on English for Specific Purposes (ESP), which encompasses teaching English for any specific profession or academic discipline, including business, medicine, nursing, law, among many others.<\/p>\n\n<p>This year, we are excited to have two keynote presentations. Leigh McDowell (Nara Institute of Science and Technology) will speak on \u201cTeaching English for Research Publication Purposes in Japan,\u201d and Mellisa Ogasawara and Chris Horne (both from Aomori University of Health and Welfare) will speak on \u201cTailoring ESP Courses to Student Needs: Enhancing learning through resource development.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Call for Poster Proposals<\/strong><br \/>We welcomes submissions of posters in English or Japanese on various aspects of ESP, including needs analysis, materials development, methodology, data-driven learning, corpus linguistics, summaries of ESP research, or other topics of interest to those teaching ESP in tertiary education.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Submissions must include the following information:<\/strong><br \/>(In the Title section: Poster Title \u2013 Maximum 12 words)<br \/>(In the Content section: Affiliation, email address)<br \/>(In the Author section: Your name)<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Attach a Word document with the following information:<\/strong><br \/>\u2013 Name, Affiliation, email address on top<br \/>\u2013 Poster title: Maximum 12 words<br \/>\u2013 Poster summary: Maximum 75 words \u2013 for use on the website only<br \/>\u2013 Extended abstract: Maximum 200 words \u2013 to be included in the symposium handout<br \/>\u2013 Presenter biography: Maximum 50 words<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Deadline for proposals: June 30, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Submission Link: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/events.jalt.org\/event\/21\/\"><strong>https:\/\/events.jalt.org\/event\/21\/<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n<p>You can see posters from our previous symposium, starting in 2012, at these links: <a href=\"https:\/\/jaltcue.org\/content\/cue-esp-symposium-2019\">https:\/\/jaltcue.org\/content\/cue-esp-symposium-2019<\/a><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">https:\/\/jaltcue.org\/Journal_11.2<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n\n<p>Poster presenters have an option to publish in the <em>OnCUE Journal Special Issue<\/em>, the proceedings for the symposium.
