I was particularly pleased that they were willing to take up my question of how they expect their proposal to be adopted by governments around the world, other organizations, developers, and other individuals who are in a position to enact AI governance. Rectar Marwala\u2019s response had four parts: 1. The UN needs to simplify its message so that it can be understood; 2. The UN needs to take its message to people (not just to policymakers); 3. The proposal must somehow balance the interests of various stakeholders; 4. The UN (and other institutions?) must help policymakers understand technology. I\u2019m not sure if they are enough, and addressing 3 is not going to be easy.
