Peace as Global Language Conference 2024

Here is a sneak preview from the Peace as a Global Languauge conference (https://pgl-japan.org) just one week away!

Washington Okeyo (Vice-Chancellor of the Management University of Africa) will explore the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence and the pivotal role universities play in shaping its development and use.

Peter Lutes (Professor at Kagawa University) will give a practical workshop on how to secure funding on how to get funding for your project, whether you are a researcher, advocate, or student.

Nur Mugeddes (Adjunct Lecturer at several universities), a Uyghur originally from Ürümqi, East Turkestan, will explore the use of advanced surveillance technologies employed by the Chinese government against this minority group and the implications for human rights and peace at both local and global levels.

Rosemary Soliman Dawood (Assistant Professor at Abu Dhabi University) will discuss the impact of AI on gender bias and equality.

Eiko Iwata (Director of the National Institute for Defense Studies) will discuss WPS (Women, Peace, and Security) implementation in the security sector to bring kindness, tenderness, and empathy into military affairs.

Thomas Mouquot (Founder of AI Automation Systems) will introduce current AI automation tools that are currently marketed to businesses.

  1. The Lunch/dinner form is now added to the post. This is mostly an in-person conference, and you cannot derive the full benefit of it without attending in person. Nevertheless, one of the rooms will be connected to Zoom, and if you would like to access it, please use the same form to register with a comment that you would like to attend virtually.
